Good Hoots: Tweed Bakerstreet

Good Hoots is the section of our Blog where we take a closer look at some of our most requested and top selling cannabis products here at Good Roots.

This week's Good Hoots takes us to Bakerstreet and a look at Tweed's version of what may be one of the oldest and purest strains in the world. So grab your deerstalker (or your sax if you're a Gerry Rafferty fan)... the game is afoot!

Tweed

Back in 2016, Tweed moved in to the abandoned Hershey chocolate factory in Smith Falls, Ontario and they've been at the forefront of recreational cannabis in Canada ever since. Now with a total of 7 million square feet of cultivation space, they're one of the largest cannabis producers in the world.

Tweed Growing Facility

Part of the massive Canopy Growth corporation, who also run the LBS, Tokyo Smoke, DNA Genetics, Van der Pop, and Spectrum Therapeutics brands, Tweed is already deep in to the legal cannabis market with many products besides dried flower such as oils, edibles, & beverages and will be expanding in to even more products lines very soon.

Bakerstreet

If we wind our way down to Bakerstreet, what will we find there? Simple deductions will show us dense, frosty bright green buds with a musky, almost cheesy scent morphing to an earthy, sandalwood flavour when smoked. How does that sound?

Bakerstreet, being about as pure an Indica as they come, is typically calming and relaxing and may just give you a case of the ol' heavy eyes & empty stomach syndrome. It's also renowned for having buds which are high in resin, making it ideal for hash production.

Genetically speaking, Bakerstreet is actually better known as Hindu Kush, this being a pure Indica landrace species hailing from the Kush mountain range that runs through Northern Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan. There are many famous strains that have a long history, but few, if any, can claim a history and influence deeper than this strain which has been used by humans for thousands of years, and has provided many dozens, if not hundreds, of offshoot strains.

Kush strains are known for being high in myrcene and of course this one does not disappoint resulting in an enjoyable heavy, night-time high that we expect from Indicas. The terpenes pinene, caryophyllene, and limonene all combine to give us the wonderful scents and flavours we get from this flower.

Not only is Bakerstreet a legend, it's also an award winner having recently won Top Indica strain at the Cannabis Cup in 2018 after having coming close as a runner-up back in 2016. The dried flower typically comes in between 15-25% THC. Bakerstreet seeds, capsules, prerolls, and chocolates are also available.

Tweed Bakerstreet is available (most of the time) at Good Roots, the best place to get your cannabis in Sherwood Park! Take a closer look on our website and grab yours today...why, it's elementary!
