Good Hoots: Broken Coast Galiano

Good Hoots is the section of our Blog where we take a closer look at some of our most requested and top selling cannabis products here at Good Roots.

Today's strain of interest is from Broken Coast, a small batch grower based in British Columbia who are quickly gaining a reputation as one of the finest producers in Canada.

Broken Coast name their strains after islands off the west coast of B.C., such as Ruxton, Keats, & Savary, but today we are looking at their powerful Sativa strain, Galiano.

Broken Coast

In operation since 2013, Broken Coast like many Canadian producers, started out life as a medical cannabis company but quickly expanded operations to a 44,000 sq.ft indoor facility on Vancouver Island following full legalization in 2018 and a buyout from one of Canada's largest cannabis companies, Aphria Inc.

Broken Coast Growing Facility

Broken Coast cannabis is certainly one of the producers we get the best feedback on from our customers and a big part of that is the freshness. Because this grass is small batch grown, shipped in good packaging (usually full to the top), and then finished with an excellent seal, it means Broken Coast weed gets to you much less dry than most on today's market.

Galiano

Broken Coast's version of Northern Lights, Galiano, is a pungent and zesty smoke with a slight mocha background that delivers a nice cerebral high.

Northern Lights, originally descended from Afghani & Thai landrace varieties, is a world famous strain from Sensi Seeds (the largest seed producer on the planet based out of Amsterdam) that is known for its relaxing and pacifying effects.

With Galiano, you are likely to see big frosty light green coloured buds that are quite dense. Those buds will break up and release a fantastic terpene profile. This strain has been bred specifically to be terp heavy and tops out with a load of Limonene, making it quite sour and citrus-y, and its also this Limonene that gives the nice relaxing buzz that Galiano is renowned for.

Besides the Limonene, this strain is also blessed with Myrcene, Caryophyllene, and Pinene resulting in a unique and complex terpene profile. Great for socializing, this one will get you uplifted and feeling great in no time!

A finalist for Best Sativa at the Canadian Cannabis Awards for 2019, Galiano typically comes in between 15-26% and will set you back $49.99 for 3.5g of the dried flower.

Broken Coast Galiano is available (most of the time) at Good Roots right here in Sherwood Park. Take a closer look on our website.
